  1. Set Time Aside to Avoid Stress

We know it can get busy, but it's important to dedicate enough time to your MOT annual training & assessment to avoid any last-minute stress. Take a few hours, set reminders, and focus on completing everything ahead of time! You must complete 3 hours of training related to this years’ topics and pass the assessment.  This is true for both Group A & B testers.  Your assessment has a limit of 60 minutes and consists of 30 questions, that’s an average of 2 minutes per question.  Check your time half way through to know if you will be ok or if you need to speed up a bit! The pass mark is 80%, so that’s 24/30 correct answers.

  2. Training Resources You Can Rely On

To help you prepare, there are several resources available to MOT testers. These include:

    1. MOT Tester Annual Training Topics: Ensure you are aware of this years’ topics: 2024-2025 Topics.

    2. Sample Questions: Purchase our e-learning package, or visit us at our purpose built training facility and receive mock exams questions. Practise makes perfect!

    3. Make sure you have the MOT Inspection Manual & MOT Testing Guide open and available during your assessment:  These documents have many pages, so use ‘Ctrl’ and ‘F’ to search for keywords/topics.

  3. Record your training & results: Keep up to date, as per MOT special notice 02-24 you must record your annual training on the MOT testing service. Follow us on our social media for help on how to do this over the next few weeks.

  4. Select the training that is most suited to your learning:  Everyone learns differently, so we have multiple options that you can choose from; whether it's training on our site, completing our e-learning package or training independently and just purchasing the exam codes.  Give us a call today and we can talk through all the options available.
