Don't miss your opportunity to have your say on motorcycle training, testing and licensing.
DVSA are launching a consultation on proposals that they say could make our roads safer for all riders in Great Britain.
The consultation seeks views on:
changing legislation to enable an increased range of training courses, modernising instructor qualifications
changes to CBT rules
introducing a digital CBT platform
Many riders across the country have only undertaken Certificate of Basic Training before riding, including those who ride for work. Increasing the knowledge and skills of riders would improve safety for everyone on the road.
This consultation is part of the Department for Transport's road safety strategy.
The consultation runs from 7 January to 31 March 2026.
Whether you're a rider, instructor, or have an interest in motorcycle safety, we want to hear from you.

How does this impact the MOT industry? Well, those of you that already test bikes know that you need a bike license to qualify. So, make sure you have your say in the consultation as it will impact any training/qualifications needed to be able to test bikes.
